The -ERs and the -EEs and the -EDs

Do you ever get the feeling that we are in different relations either the -er or the -ee or the -ed

In one sided love, you are either the “Likee” or the “Liked”

In certain friendships you are either the “caller” or the “Called”

In the same vein you are the “listener” or the “listened”

With certain colleagues your role is that of the “complainee” or the “complained”

You tend towards either being the “give-in-er” or the ” give- in-ed” one

You are sometimes playing the role of  the “waitee” or the “waited”

You either are the one who is “looked” out for or the “looker”

Like the bell shaped curve, relations are either like the green or the blue curve, or the “bell shaped” normally distributed red one

I guess in the beginning relations are a bit skewed. In many cases sadly , it remains so. The skewness becomes even more pronounced and so ingrained, that a balance may actually throw the whole equation out of gear.Sometimes though, as the relation grows the skewness gets corrected mutually, and the “-ees”, the “-er” and the “-ed” matter no more.

  1. hmm.. interesting way to put the fundamental truth. One more thumb of rule. The day you have to make an effort to be either the -ee or the -ed then its safe to conclude that this is not IT!!
“Eventually life may fall fall in place” is too much of a risk to take 🙂

    1. Hey ! thanks a lot for the reply!!! What i meant by “mutual correction” is actually different from ” eventually life may fall in place”. What i mean simply is: mutual correction. The recognition of skewness and the correction should ideally take place mutually. A little give and a little take 🙂 Then life will eventually fall in place 😉

  2. Oh yes, I love the way you have used statistics to describe how a normal relation should be!!

  3. Only a linguist -cum- MA(Stats) could come up with a blog like “The -ERs and the -EEs and the –Eds”……….had to really concentrate…..had to recall my English school classes (Gonsalvis Miss)….then remember my MBA Stats lecture….link the 2 and understand this one.
Before had come across tongue twisters…..this one was a brain twister (now I better understand what my clothes go thru one in d washing machine spinner)…..really cute one babes!……am recommending this one in my office.
